Even God uses Facebook

Anyone who uses Facebook knows that there are numerous pages dedicated to spreading God's work and His word, but He also uses individual Facebook users to get His work done!
The national and local news have been covering the devastation of Henryville, Indiana from Friday's tornadoes. The relief efforts continue but what they are unaware of are the many smaller facets of this effort that God is playing a role in. Yes, God uses Facebook to put His plans into action! When His people listen and act, miracles happen!
Saturday, a friend of mine posted on Facebook that her husband was planning on going down to Henryville and the local news would carried the story that night. Now normally I would not have that channel on for the news on a Saturday night but thanks to her post, my husband and I watched the news. Essentially, her husband and some of his friends were planning on taking any donations of clothing, food and living essentials down to the area and helping people to clean up. Anyone who wanted to donate could drop things off at the township fire department. Neither one of us talked about the story afterward and we eventually went to bed.
I decided that the clothing that I had saved for a yard sale this year could be better used by those down in southern Indiana and I would run them down to the fire station after church. I never said one word to my husband about my plans.Surprisingly, Sunday morning Mike was gathering items to donate that he thought they could use too. Neither one of us had spoken about donating anything to the other! God had just laid it on our hearts to do it and we did.
Rather than after church, we dropped it before church. We were greeting by Harland and Eric, a mutual friend and after the handshakes and hugs proceeded to unload our donations. A cameraman from the local news channel was there and asked if he could interview us. I pushed Mike into doing it, knowing full well he was out of his comfort zone but also "feeling" that it was what God wanted. After praying with the guys to provide and guide them, we left for church.
On our way Mike asked me why I did what I did and without thinking told him that he had more public contacts than I did with his job. Maybe people he knew from work would see it and help out. I had no idea how far reaching God's plan was.
The next morning one of the Forest River plant managers from Wakarusa that he knew called and wanted a meeting with him about the relief effort. He and some of the other plant managers and employees had seen Mike on TV and wanted to help. Within 3 hours, the 2 plants had donated a substantial amount of money to get the donations down to Henryville and help in the recovery effort! Donations from the community of tangible items left at the fire station was huge, now add the financial donations from the 2 Forest River plants plus whatever has come in since this writing can only be summed up as amazing! God certainly had a hand in this and when His people do their part as He wants, he pours out unimaginable blessings!
God uses Facebook too! Had it not been for my friend's post on Facebook, we would not have watched the news, delivered our donations before church instead of after, as I had planned and been able to give such an awesome testimony to such an AWESOME GOD!
