Finally Lugar is OUT!

Democrats are crying over Lugar's defeat but it is LONG overdue. He should have been ousted years ago. While the LA Times touted him as having quiet diplomacy he should have been described as a favorite when it came to backdoor politics. Lugar was severely out of touch with Hoosiers who have been struggling with job losses, low incomes and illegal immigrants stealing American jobs.
Constantly sported his high priced suits, the state that he was supposed to be representing had consistently been thrown to the wolves by Obama's cronies, one of which he most certainly was.
he may be missed by the Democrats in Congress and other two-faced republicans but he won't be missed by Hoosiers who have been referring to him as a "sore loser".  Interestingly enough, Numbers USA also felt that Lugar was out of touch with serious issues facing American workers. Roy Beck's blog yesterday noted ..
Like many Senators who serve for many terms, Sen. Lugar was vulnerable to charges that he no longer had a good feel for the needs of his state's voters. The fact that his greatest reputation is in foreign policy didn't help.
His immigration actions accentuated both those identities because he used immigration as a kind of bargaining chit in his foreign policy gamemanship. The effect on U.S. workers didn't seem to ever come into play.
I certainly agree and say good riddance to another arrogant career politician.

Defeated-Sen. Lugar is worst immigration Republican in Senate -- both GOP & Dem Indiana primary victors MUCH better
