When I was growing up, coupons and S&H Greenstamps were a way of life for both my grandmother and my mother. Coupons helped my mother keep the pantry well stocked to feed a family of 6, 3 of which were growing boys! While S&H Greenstamps are sadly a thing of the past, coupons have persevered and evolved into the 21st century.Today, millions of families take advantage of coupons to extend their grocery budget. If you are still lucky enough to live in an area that still doubles coupons, you have a literal goldmine!
Unfortunately, living in northern Indiana, the RV capital of the world and the hardest hit by the recent recession, double coupons don't exist. If they did I would gladly patronize the store that offers them! To compensate for this lack of savings I have resorted to the next best approach. Now mind you, I am by no means a fan of Walmart but since they do price match on groceries I do my shopping there. By using coupons and price matching I can save a pretty good bundle and have a fairly well stocked pantry.
As if I didn't have enough to do, I used to spend at least 3- 4 hours a week gathering competitor ads, clipping coupons, going through each flyer to get the best price, printing online coupons, visiting coupon sites. It was becoming a real chore. Then back in 2010, I stumbled on to this really neat site called "SavingsAngel.com". This site charged a membership fee but was offering a free membership for 4 weeks. Being the penny pincher that I am, I thought to myself, "there is no way, I am going to pay to use a site when I can do it all on my own". I signed up and used the site for 4 weeks. Everything was so easy and I saved so much time and money that 1 1/2 years later, I am still a member and it takes me less than 1 hour a week to get my list and coupons ready for the shopping!
This site has everything you need, your own printable shopping list, tutorials, coupon printing, help desk, community, helpful tips, and sale ads for stores all over the country. To make it even better, they are adding more and more store to their already large list! The Angel workers are diligently working every weeks to keep the ads and coupons up to date. The bottom line is saving subscribers time and money.
The section I love the best is "Enlightened Shopping". This where you can pull up all the sales from your area stores, compare them for the best price, know the coupons that are available for each item and add them to your shopping list. How do I do that? I start by clicking on the store Iplan to shop at, which of course will be Walmart because of their price matching. At the bottom of the page, is a section where you can search for a product. You have the option to highlight all the stores that you want to compare prices at, type in the product and it brings up that product and shows which stores have it on sale, PLUS the coupons you will need and the savings!
For instance, last week one of the stores had Hamburger Helper on sale for 88 cents a box, generally $1.25 a box. I keyed in the item and found that there was a coupon available for 90 cents off with the purchase of 4 boxes! I ended up paying 65 cents a box, saving me 60 cents each!
I still get the Sunday newsper for the coupons and flyers, since I have found that not all printed coupons are available online but the time and money I have saved is enormous!
Currently, they have an introductory special where you can get 4 weeks FREE! Follow the link and get started! Try Savings Angel today!
