Obama Sanctions Blasphemy Laws
Today the president of Libya confirmed that the video had nothing to do with the acts of violence, and David Gregory commented that foreign governments see Obama as a weak foreign leader. The German Press agrees with its article 'Obama's Middle East Policy Is in Ruins'. Is that really surprising?
"US President Barack Obama's Middle East policy is in ruins. Like no president before him, he tried to win over the Arab world. After some initial hesitation, he came out clearly on the side of the democratic revolutions. … In this context, he must accept the fact that he has snubbed old close allies such as Israel, Saudi Arabia and the Egyptian military. And now parts of the freed societies are turning against the country which helped bring them into being. Anti-Americanism in the Arab world has even increased to levels greater than in the Bush era. It's a bitter outcome for Obama."
"Obama was naive to believe that one only needed to adopt a new tone and show more respect in order to dispel deep-seated reservations about the free world. In practice, the policies of the Obama administration in the region were not as naive as they may have seemed at times, and the Americans have always been much more involved in the Middle East than the passive Europeans. But Washington has provided the image of a distracted superpower in the process of decline to the societies there. This image of weakness is being exploited by Salafists and al-Qaida, who are active in North Africa from Somalia to Mali." One thing is clear: If jihadists believe they can attack American installations and kill an ambassador on the anniversary of Sept. 11, then America’s deterrent power has declined considerably. For a superpower, it is not enough just to want to be loved. You have to scare the bad guys to keep them in check.
It is common knowledge that the administration knew 48 hours before this incident that something was going down, even though Obama & Clinton made the statements that it happened without warning. Ever since 9/11, our embassies have been more vigilent and on high alert every year on the anniversary. Why was this year different? Is Obama so caught up in his campaigning, golf games and appearances on Letterman that he doesn't have time for national security? Must be considering the fact that he rarely sits in on security briefings.
The German press isn't the only one that thinks Obama is a failure with his Foreign Policy, thousands of voters are commenting through social medias and the verdict is clearly against Obama.
As more and more big names are speaking out, it will be interesting tosee how Obama will worm his way out of this one. He certainly can't blame Bush or some phantom scapegoat this time!
**** From what I have read about the Muslim religion, these Islamists are not practising their faith very well. Muslims are peace loving people and are only allowed to resort to violence when protecting their homeland. These radicals have invaded other countries, although they may have skirted that law by recruiting rebels from other countries and ordering them to commit the violence on their own turf. Regardless, the violence and killing that these mulsim engage in, is not faith based it is pure terrorism. I am quite certain if the Prophet that this film had supposedly ridiculed was alive today, he would not condone these violent acts.
